I am so ready for winter to be over!! It will be wonderful to get back into the garden and start moving the soil around, there is hardly a sweeter smell to me then fresh turned soil!! As a way to ring in Spring I designed a few new logo ideas for Over the Rainbow and figured it would be much more FUN to get my fans involved too!

Exploding with Excitement!!

I have spent a lot of time recently thinking about my path, and the journey we are on with our darling son & daughter's health. I know usually I post about the most recent projects in my studio, but lately those pieces have had to take a back stage to my personal life. As mother's we wear so many hats, juggling kids extra curriculars, household chores, doctors appointments, extended family life that often we are left with very little at the end of the day for ourselves. That's just the way it goes! ...right??? And yet... I 'm always thinking about the instructions we get on an airplane.....NO not about the bag in front of you, should you feel the need to relieve your stomach! ;D

I am talking about the part where the stewardess reminds us....YOU MUST PUT YOUR MASK ON FIRST BEFORE YOUR CHILD'S BECAUSE WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO HELP THEM IF WE DON'T TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES!!

Profound..isn't it??? Shouldn't life be this way too? Recently I found a place that presented itself as if by devine intervention! I mean really!, it screamed me...from the colors of the website to the principles of using art to heal you and begin to live...TRULY LIVE ..again...happier, more at peace, embracing every little thing good and bad, trusting yourself that no matter what life will bring you.... YOU WILL BE JUST FINE!...in fact better then fine! I can't tell you how OVERJOYED I am to find this place! I am looking forward to starting a course on just the ideas I spoke of a minute ago, and I couldn't be more jazzed up to start!! It's like fireworks are exploding all around me!!

OH WHAT A JOURNEY!!

Wow...It's been a very long time since I last posted. I do apologize but my life has really been turned upside down since having my little boy. He is so precious!

He took a turn with his health and ended up hospitalized for several months while the doctors figured out what was wrong with him. Sadly he has the same lung disease and defect as his older sister. This was something the specialist didn't believe would be genetic but...sometimes doctors can be wrong. It's been a very interesting journey to say the very least...however the learning curve was short as we have been down this road before with oxygen tubes, feeding tubes, IV steroids, pokes and procedures.

As you can imagine, this has consumed my world for the past 6 months and we are nowhere near being out of the woods!

I am taking a few orders here and there and I have BIG PLANS for OVER THE RAINBOW!! So please bare with me as I make my way through this...say a few prayers for my son if you feel so inclined...it would mean so much to me! <3

Keep your eyes out for Over the Rainbow's new look..new designs..and new products!

I guess you could say I AM ON A SOUL RESTORATION! Ready for all the "new" to begin!

Well, it is getting closer to the arrival of our newest little one! Time has flew by... I can't believe it is almost here! There is so much to reflect on. There will be new challenges but I look forward to them all ;) Ya Right! We'll see if I say that at 2:07 am a few weeks from now!! I plan to take some time away from painting for the first little while & I know my time management skills will need some sharpening up.

Giant Letters!!

These giant 2 ft. letters were created for a very handsome baby boy named Jaxyn. With the dark black/brown color and tone on tone brown camo, they should work for years in his tan and wenge brown bedroom long after the crib is replaced by a big boy bed! This beautiful chair belonging to a lovely customer, once belonged to her grandfather. I feel very honored that she would entrust me to paint it. She was looking for a antique green~blue with floral inserts that resembled needle point. The effect turned out quite well.

Hello everyone,

Here's the deal.... I have all these various pieces of furniture sitting in my studio desperately awaiting face lifts. I am looking for feed back as to what to paint on them and or upholster them with. I have many ideas of my own but I have been noticing many of you visiting my blog lately and thought I would ask for your help as to what you and your kids are interested in.

I have desks, chairs and rockers of various sizes, wardrobes, lamps, shelves and so much more.

I will be posting pictures of some of these pieces in their present state of primer.

I transformed this drab chandelier into a show stopper ..with enough "BLING" for any girl ..young or old. This one was created for a delightful pre-teen named Makenzie who loves purple.

With a custom paint finish to compliment the room.

I think camouflage works great for boys and girls alike and can be mixed with other patterns and styles to change the feel. Below are examples of the patterns I'm working on. I repainted this chandelier and added some imbellishments now it's the perfect thing for the girl's room. You don't need to be a little girls to have a chandelier in your room!

I also made the window coverings in their rooms.

Both my girls have these headboards...they were a thriftstore find, they look so different after I covered them....I just love them and the best part is I made them interchangeable so when I want a different fabric I can pop it off and put on a different one for a TOTALLY new look!
All kids think castles are the neatest places...Princesses, Princes....Knights of the round table. Just by changing the color gives it a whole different feel.

I'm always looking for chenille bedspreads.....you can cover just about anything and some come in really neat colors. Like this little chair.

I believe that our childhood is such a short time in our lives. Why should we spend it coloring inside the lines? Kids see our world with different eyes. Their creativity and imaginations are rich with color and wonder. They find inspiration from the simplest things....and I find inspiration from them.

They will have plenty of time as an adult to have deadlines, expectations and live in a world with many shades of gray. But for now, I'm inspired to fill their world with color and creativity.

"What a Wonderful World" it would be to see it through their eyes.

I hope..." I Never Loose That Sense Of Wonder" and will do my best to make sure my children don't either.

I dare you to see all the beauty in this world! ........ color outside those lines!
